"All About Carpets"

Many places sell Rambler carpets but most are "one size fits all" and I have never found that to work. I have 12 carpet and 10 trunk mat patterns that I use with "For Ramblers Only" carpet kits. I stock 10 colors of loop carpet (over 3,000 yards) and have access to many colors of cut pile carpet.

All of my kits contain 3 yards of padding, a can of spray adhesive, a pair of shears, printed instructions and a DVD called "How To Install Rambler Carpets", a small package of calking and even a piece of chalk. All to make your carpet project easy and successful. So let me know what year, model Rambler you have and what color of carpet you need.

Know Your Rambler

A Rose is a Rose is a Rose - but when you are ordering parts, a Rambler is not just a Rambler.

You will need to know which Rambler you have and usualy what engine.

To find out which Rambler you have, look at the model plate either inside the drivers door frame or on top of the right front fender under the hood. Where it says "model" you will find a 4 or 5 digit number.

The first two digits are the year.

The next digit is the model, as follows:
0 --American (to 69) Hornet (70 to 77)
1 -- is Classic (61 to 66) Rebel (67 to 70)
2 -- is Rebel (58 to 60) Classic V-8 (61)
3 -- is AMX (68 to 70)
4 -- is Gremlin (70 to 78)
5 -- is Marlin (65 to 67)
6 -- is Pacer
7 -- is Javelin
8 -- is Ambassador (46 to 74)

The 4th digit is the body, as follows:
2 -- is 2 door (Business Coupe)
3 -- is 2 door Hatch Back
4 -- is 2 door Wagon
5 -- is 4 door Sedan
6 -- is 2 door Sedan
7 -- is Convertible
8 -- is 4 door Wagon
9 -- is 2 door Hard Top

The 5th digit (if present) denotes the options on that model. ie super, Custom, 770, 990, etc
Example; 6315-5 is a 63 Classic 4 door Sedan "770"
